The Journal of Faculty of Agriculture of Düzce University is a scientific, peer-reviewed, academic journal that publishes qualified research and well-prepared review articles on current topics that have not been published elsewhere before in order to bring important studies in the fields of agriculture, food, and agricultural biotechnology to a wide range of scientists at the national and international level.

The Journal of Faculty of Agriculture of Düzce University includes original research articles and a limited number of review studies on all agricultural fields such as plant protection, horticulture, field crops, agricultural economics, agricultural machinery, agricultural biotechnology, agricultural structures and irrigation, soil science and plant nutrition, zootechnics, biosystems and food science. The Journal of Faculty of Agriculture of Düzce University is published at least twice a year. Submitted articles must be original and written in Turkish or English. Only articles whose abstracts are published in a congress or symposium can also be submitted to the journal. The most important feature of the publication policy is its contribution to science. Studies that are stated by the referees that they do not contribute are not published.

ARTICLE WRITING RULES
Articles should be prepared with the Article Template.

No information about the authors should be added to the article template.

While the article is being uploaded to the system;

2) Copyright Transfer and Conflict of Interest Declaration Form

3) Ethical Approval Declaration Form

4) Plagiarism Report (taken from intihal.net) (there must be a maximum of 20% plagiarism rate, excluding bibliography)

must be uploaded together with these documents.

NOTE: No information about the authors (name, surname, mail, etc.) should be added to the article template and file headers.


General Format Features

The article text must be in 12 point font size and Cambria font.

Line spacing should be 1.15.

It should be prepared as a single column, leaning on both sides.

The article prepared according to the template should not exceed 15 pages.

Line numbers should be given separately for each page.

No changes should be made to the page structure and page margins of the article template.

The first lines of the paragraphs should be indented by 0.5 cm.

Article Title

Each study must have a title in English and Turkish.

In articles written in English with a Turkish abstract, the English article title should be in 14-point font size, and the Turkish article title should be in 12-point font size.

In articles written in Turkish with an English abstract, the Turkish article title should be in 14-point font size, and the English article title should be in 12-point font size.

The title should be left aligned and only the first word of the title should start with a capital letter, all other letters should be written in lowercase letters.

If the article is a research based on a project, master's or doctoral thesis, it should be stated in the "Acknowledgments" section.

Authors

The name, surname, e-mail address and ORCID number of all authors (including graduate students) and the contact phone number of the responsible author should be written on the cover page.

Only the initial letters of the author's names and surnames should be written in capital letters.

Author title information should not be included.

Author address information must be stated. (E.g. Department of Biosystems Engineering, Faculty of Agriculture, Düzce University, Düzce, Türkiye,)

At least 4 referee suggestions should be stated on the cover page.

If part or all of the study has been published as a paper anywhere (congress, conference, symposium, panel, etc.), all information about the published study must be stated on the title page.

Abstract and Turkish Abtract (ÖZET)

Abstract (Maximum 300 words) and Turkish abstract (Maximum 250 words) should be in 7 point font size and written justified.

It is mandatory to write a Turkish abstract for article presentations in English.

Keywords

4 keywords should be written.

Main Text

Article; It should include Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results and Discussion, and Conclusion sections.

In the introduction section; The importance of the subject should be explained with its place in the literature.

Studies should reveal the problem, analyze the relevant literature competently, emphasize the deficiencies, gaps and contradictions in the literature, and mention the steps to be taken for a solution.

The materials and methods used in the research should be clearly stated.

In the Materials and Methods section, if an original model is used in the study, there must be a model subsection and Sample/Study Group, Data Collection Tools and Procedure subsections.

In the research results and discussion section; The results should be discussed with their place in the literature.

At the end of the article; Acknowledgment Statement, Researcher Contribution Rate declaration, Conflict of Interest declaration must be stated.

References

The citing rules specified in the Publication Manual of American Psychological Association (APA) (7th edition) published by the American Psychological Association should be applied both in the text and in the bibliography.

The definitions of the general ethical behaviors and responsibilities expected from all parties (authors, journal editors, referees and publishers) regarding the principles of publication in peer-reviewed journals are given below.

Ethical responsibilities of authors

1. Articles submitted to the Journal of Agriculture Faculty of Düzce University should be original studies in accordance with the specified fields of study.

2. Authors cannot submit their articles to another journal at the same time.

3. Authors should collect data related to their studies within the framework of ethical principles. Authors are obliged to provide the raw data that form the basis of the study to the publisher, editor and referees upon request.

4. Manuscripts submitted for publication must not violate scientific publication ethics (plagiarism, forgery, distortion, republication, unfair authorship, failure to specify the supporting organization, failure to comply with ethical rules in animal studies).

5. Studies submitted to the journal should contain sufficient source information and details. Fraudulent and deliberate misrepresentations are unacceptable as they may lead to unethical situations. Theses or studies that have not yet been submitted or defended and accepted cannot be used as a source without the permission of the owner.

6. Authors are obliged to declare the supporting organizations, financial sources or conflict of interest.

7. Each person who contributed to the design, implementation or interpretation of the work submitted to the journal should be acknowledged in the manuscript. All significant contributors should be listed following the first author. Other people should be added to the “Acknowledgement” section of the manuscript.

8. During the publication process, the “Corresponding Author” is considered to be the one who makes the correspondence with the relevant journal/institution. The corresponding author should share his/her correspondence with the other authors and carry out the necessary procedures in a timely and accurate manner.

9. If the author detects a significant inaccuracy or defect in the work published in the journal, the author is obliged to notify the journal editor or publisher immediately and to cooperate with the editor to correct the existing inaccuracy or defect.

10. All authors are considered to take responsibility for the content of the article. It is unethical for a person who has not contributed anything to an article to be an author. Similarly, it is unethical for someone who has made a significant contribution to the publication not to be listed among the authors.

Ethical responsibilities of reviewers

1. A referee who feels that he/she does not have sufficient information about the manuscript to evaluate the manuscript sent to him/her for evaluation by the editor or his/her assistants, or who is unable to make an immediate evaluation, should inform the editor of this situation and resign from the evaluation task.

2. Reviewers should conduct their evaluation by respecting the principle of confidentiality. They should not show the manuscript to anyone other than the editor or his/her assistants and should not discuss the manuscript with others.

3. Reviewers should keep the privileged information and ideas obtained during the review process confidential and should not use them for personal gain. In addition, reviewers should not use any part of the data of the manuscript that has not yet been published.

4. Referee criticisms should be made objectively. No personal criticism should be directed against the author. Reviewers should express their opinions with clear supporting arguments.

5. If the reviewers find a substantial similarity or overlap between the work under review and another previously published work, they should inform the editor.

6. Reviewers should not evaluate manuscripts in which there is competition, collaboration or any other kind of relationship or connection with the author.

Ethical responsibilities of editors and associate editors

1. They should evaluate the manuscripts submitted to the journal in terms of their importance, original value, validity, clarity of expression and conformity with the aims and objectives of the journal and make a positive or negative decision. If they decide to reject the manuscript as a result of the first review, they are obliged to clearly inform the authors of the reason for this.

2. The editor and his/her assistants should inform the author within 30 days whether the manuscripts submitted to the journal for publication have been evaluated or not. The editors or their assistants are responsible for deciding which of the submitted manuscripts should be published.

3. The manuscripts submitted to the journal must first be checked for plagiarism by the editors or their assistants. At this stage, studies with the possibility of plagiarism are rejected by the editor or assistant editors.

4. Unpublished methods and information contained in the studies submitted to the journal should not be used by anyone in their own work without the express written permission of the authors.

5. Studies submitted to the journal should be evaluated only within the framework of their intellectual values, without taking into account the social, cultural, economic characteristics and religious beliefs of the authors.

6. Manuscripts submitted to the journal should not be disclosed by the editor or his/her assistants to anyone other than the authors, referees, associate editors and the publisher.

7. They should send the manuscripts to referees whose knowledge is appropriate to their expertise.

8. Encourage reviewers to evaluate the manuscript in an impartial, scientific and objective manner.

9. They should create a referee pool and keep it constantly updated.

10. In the referee pool; they should pay attention to the presence of scientists who objectively evaluate the articles, fulfill the refereeing process on time, evaluate the article with constructive criticism and act in accordance with ethical rules.

11. If the editor or his/her assistants determine that the manuscript submitted to the journal has a conflict of interest with another author and/or institution, the manuscript should be withdrawn from the publication/evaluation process.

12. The final opinion regarding the acceptance or rejection of the manuscripts submitted to the journal belongs to the editor. The editor should make his/her decision by taking into account issues such as the originality and importance of the study.

13. The editor should not advise the authors to cite any article or other work in the journal for the acceptance of the manuscripts submitted to the journal.

Ethical Responsibilities of the Publisher

1. Agriculture Faculty of Düzce University, which is the publisher of the Journal of Agriculture Faculty of Düzce University, is a non-profit public educational institution that pursues public interest.

2. The ethical responsibilities of the publisher are to monitor and protect the ethics of publishing by the editorial board and not to compromise ethical standards.

The Board of Editors of the Journal of Agriculture Faculty of Düzce University is formed by the Board of Directors of Agriculture Faculty of Düzce University. The members of the Board of Editors are appointed for three years by considering the branches of science. An editor and the Editor-in-Chief are appointed as the chairman of the Board of Editors, and one or more deputy editors and field editors are appointed as appropriate. A new member is appointed to replace the departing member. The term of the expired member may be extended.
